Margot Cassila, singer - songwriter
I was still in school when someone handed me a microphone at a rehearsal... and the musicians asked me to be part of the band. I had been listening to B.B. King, Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, Elvis Presley and learned a lot from them.
After that, Punk, rock and New Wave influenced me, but a passion for Flamenco, African and oriental music also led me to Indian and Balkanise music.
I lived in Paris and London, travelled Africa, Asia, USA and Europ for work and pleasure.
Sung and danced with many bands, from Hot Pants with Manu Tchao to Invaders of the heart with Natacha Atlas and Jah Wobble, also played percussion and drums. I decided to leave London, had two children in Paris and started performing with a circus (acrobats and horses) called Ocirque, for 4 years.
Later I co-wrote the songs for the bands I fronted : Kiss my Frogs, DelMar, Crocodile Candy and French Details.
I also give singing lessons in Paris and do voice-over.
2023: new album : AFFECTION by French Details is on Spotify, Deezer and Apple music.
We played all the new songs at The Sunset in may with the fantastic Khalil Chahine on guitar.
I'm studying art-therapy at L'Inecat, body percussion with Ludovic Prevel, and also more speech and voice therapy at L'Institut Arthur Vernes with Claire Pillot-Loiseau.
Starting September 2023 I will be creating new music and touring with Jean-Philippe Barrios and Christophe Rodomisto for a new show with "Hors Surface" a company of trampoline acrobats.
